A Few Recent Crafts

Some things I made in the last month or so that don't deserve their own posts.

I wanted to make something small and precise out of plywood, so I copied the general footprint of Tom Sach's tape dispenser.

The frame is made from plywood, and is mostly Gorilla Glued together rather than screwed because of its thin width. The spool is made from a firewood log that I cut, grinded, sanded, and oiled.

I got the blade from my jigsaw bit kit and dremeled it down to fit the frame. It's attached with plumber's epoxy.

The latch is made from a shard of metal I dremeled off of the spine of an old three ring binder. The binder was meant to hold my Mom's ukelele songbook, but she never plays it anyway.

I'm very happy with it, although I left the roll of electrical tape I designed it around at home. Not sure why I did that.

I did a lot of jean sewing over break.

Some experiments with darning. Im really proud of the left one.

I did the lettering before break while watching Nomadland. So fucking sad.

For Phoebe.

For Maya.

Joe broke my mirror at home, so I repurposed a shard into a hand mirror for my room at school. Jigsawing the wood backing and handle was a lot of fun. Didn't know it could cut curves that smooth.

The hole is so it can hang on the wall.

Wrote out all of the lyrics to one of my favorite albums on masking tape to display. I had a lot of time on my hands over break. Note the firewood chunk, semi-functional hobo stove, sodacan torch, and practically untouched bongos.

I jigsawed one of my great grandmother's cutlery cases down and glued it back together to fit Gert's knife and lighter. Don't worry, the silverware is long gone.

They fit so nice.

Set up a little table in this inlet.

Gotta do something.

Thought this was cool. The setup I used to make a freaky ass presentation for my electrical design class. Handmade paper presentation. I want to do it for a more serious class sometime in the future. It would've been a lot more impressive if my project wasn't dogshit :)

Repaired this broken railing in Westco.

Someone had to.

Here's to another month of crafts!
