The Tree

The decoration of the tree outside my window is a long-time project of mine.

The crown jewels of the tree are the twin swings. The one on the right was purchased from a store and got put up with some friends last year. The left one I built in September, I think out of my old shelf from Butts A. The rope is kinda weak and I'm surprised that it's lasted as long as it has. Some people swing on this thing like I didn't make it at 4am out of scrap materials. If someone gets hurt then please don't show them this blog post.

People use these a lot more than I thought they would. It makes me very happy whenever I see people talking on them from my window. I figured PSAFE would take them down, but they don't seem to care too much.

I messed up painting the back of the sign. By the time I realized it was upside down it was about 4:30 in the morning and I didn't have the heart to make a new one.

I had a lot of fun making this tree climbing placard. I didn't preserve it too well and it got ruined by rain, but I'll make better one soon.

I got this frame at goodwill. I thought it was funny.

When I saw this in a thrift store, I knew I had to put it up. I believe I got the shelf wood from a pallet in the loading dock underneath Exley. I finished it with boiled linseed oil a few weeks ago not knowing what I'd use it for, and it turned out to look pretty natural on the tree.

I'm not sure what to add next after the updated climbing guide. I've considered a ladder, but part of me wants people to have to climb up. Another tire swing might be nice. We'll see.
