The story of my chair.
I'd been eyeing this cushy red roller chair near the archeology department in Exley for a few weeks. It sat by the window in a very quiet hallway, and I'd never seen another person use it other than myself.
I snuck it out through the Exley interior staircase and carried it to my dorm.
It looked really nice in my room, but the arms wouldn't fit underneath my desk.
I borrowed Jonah's Dremel and sawed off the arms. It took about an hour, but was a lot of fun. There were sparks flying everywhere and some neighbors on a balcony were looking at me funny for a few minutes. I sanded down the cuts and wrapped them in cloth so I didn't tear my pants every time I sat down, and gave it a paint job.
My current plan is to return it to Exley at the end of the year with a small plaque screwed in recounting my time with it. At this point though, I don't know if I have the heart to give it away.
